Welcome to
the homepage of the presentation prepared for program
artists-in-residence laboratory of Center for Contemporary Art
Ujazdowski Castle, Ohio Arts Council and SPACES World Artists
Program.
For this presentation layout of
the fundacja36,6 new website is used. The site is currently under
(re-) construction, so I'm so sorry for non-working sections (i.e.
the gray strip above). This presentation is an answer to the
invitation from Program artists-in-residence laboratory and -
indirectly - from SPACES World Artists Program. It includes
documentation of my individual projects as well as collective
projects by fundacja36,6. This non-profit organization, laboratory
and meeting point is for me and for my co-operators the main
long-term project and workshop area for activity on the borderland
of art, social, political and education issues. [r.

Fundacja36,6 Non-profit
organisation / collective established in May 2003 by Roman
Dziadkiewicz and Wojciech Kosma as platform for artists, theorists
and activists for cooperation and exchanging of experiences. F36,6
continue and develop The Health Center Art Society (1999-2002)
experiences, but we move our interest from problems of art, more to
the diagnoses of culture reality and social, political and economic
problems as contexts for culture activity - in local and global
scale. The art is going to be 'the most bare nerve of
society'.
As main dimension of the f36,6 activities, we are
carrying out projects no the borderlands of different areas:
socio-critique, arts and (self)education. We also develop an
individual, subjective artistic and theoretical reflection,
providing it constantly with criticism and confronting it with
other's attitudes or contemporary cultural aspects, which question
its (art activity) principles, role and place in the current social
landscape (...)
Main creators &
collaborators: Roman Dziadkiewicz (f36,6 head,
artist/activist), Zorka Wollny (student, artist), Jan Sowa (theorist
of culture, curator), Wojtek Kosma (musician), Mateusz Kula (hacker,
net-artist), Andrzej Zwawa (green and social activist), Janek Simon
(artist). F36,6 is based in Chmielowice (base) and Krakow (office,
workshop).
Roman Dziadkiewicz
Born in 1972 in Opole, studied at the High Pedagogical
School in Opole and at the Academy of Fine Arts in Kraków. Currenty
he lives and works in Kraków. An artist, activist, head of the
fundacja36,6, and occasional artist-curator.
He is interested
in investigating the relationships between art activity and
socio-political and cultural processes. He is engaged in theme-based
projects, projects in progress, actions, workshop strategies,
graphic design and text projects and also collective activity on the
border of art, social and educational spheres.
His interests
are particularly oriented around the question of challenging and
disintegrating the artwork, and conflicts and correlations between
daily life and politics. Questioning the notions and roles of art in
a socio-culture landscape, and the dichotomy of reality and fiction
in creative art processes, Dziadkiewicz works specifically on a
local level within the public sphere.
